Instead of pushing people to improve their situation, the system can end up making it easier to stay where they are. Not everyone, of course, but enough to make people question if the program is actually solving poverty or just maintaining it. Because if there’s no clear expectation to grow, work, or build something sustainable, then what’s the long term goal?

Anlaki na nga ng tax na kinakaltas nyo enough na mag support ng maraming programs. Tapos pati mga tamad at ungrateful na tao ipapasalo nyo sa amin? 

Here in the Philippines, poverty is glorified. It’s always the middle class that takes the hit. We’re the ones carrying everything. This is absolute bullshit.😮‍💨🥴
